Unlocking internal strength through dialogue with Assoc. Professors, PhDs, and doctoral candidates

On January 14, 2026, LHU held a gathering for its Assoc. Professors, PhDs, and doctoral candidates, widely recognized as the backbone of scientific research and academic development in higher education institutions. Beyond a formal meeting, the event provided an opportunity to directly reflect on roles, responsibilities, and the increasing demands placed on scientific research in the University’s new phase of development.

An overview of the meeting

As higher education continues to undergo strong shifts toward standardization, international integration, and practical relevance, scientific research is no longer a parallel activity but has become a key measure of institutional academic capacity. For LHU, placing scientific research at the center of institutional dialogue is identified as a core development strategy.

The meeting created a forum for open discussions on key issues in education, including:

  • - How research can go beyond publications to create real value for education and society;

  • - How postgraduate education can serve as a nurturing ground for strong research groups;

  • - And more importantly, how to inspire and maintain long-term research motivation among lecturers, scientists, and doctoral candidates, particularly the development of policies to promote and expand the number of doctoral candidates and PhD holders.

From a broader perspective, what stands out is not only the issues discussed, but also the spirit of dialogue and partnership. As University leaders directly listen to the voices of intellectuals, and as Assoc. Professors, PhDs, and doctoral candidates collectively share responsibilities, scientific research is no longer an individual task but a shared goal of the academic community.

This gathering reaffirms the University’s consistent stance: enhancing educational quality requires strong investment in research, while sustainable research development requires an open academic environment that respects knowledge and fosters creativity.
